No more Mr. Nice Guy

IrishIllustrated.com Notre Dame freshman point guard Tory Jackson gets a bit starry-eyed. The Saginaw, Mich., native still has to pinch himself sometimes to realize his dreams of playing major college basketball really have come true.
But when Jackson got caught up in the excitement of traveling to Villanova to take on the Wildcats and an old summer hoop friend, he learned a valuable lesson.
Stop being so nice.
"I was too friendly," said Jackson, who couldn't stop Wildcat freshman Scottie Reynolds en route to a career-high 27 points in Villanova's 15-point win over the Irish.
"I was like, 'Oh, man, how you doin'?' Seeing (Villanova head coach) Jay Wright
I get too excited seeing new things. Being at Villanova, which is a great gym, I get too excited. I was too friendly."
Ten days later, Wright brought his squad into the Joyce Center, and Jackson brought a new attitude.
