Connecticut coach Jim Calhoun has a viewing suggestion for potential recruits who might be near a television Wednesday. Tune into the NBA draft, where he expects to see a string of Huskies called to the podium.[details]
Strengths: Brown is strong and extremely tough. He has with great size and a knack for putting the ball in the basket in tough situations. He was often the one that stepped up for UConn. He is committed to playing good defense, minimizing mistakes and moving the ball unselfishly. He can score from different parts of the floor but was never considered an offensive juggernaut.
Weaknesses: Brown does not stand out as an NBA swingman prospect. His quickness is average, as is his overall athletic ability. His ball-handling, shot-creating ability and perimeter shooting do not appear special either. He was solid on defense at the collegiate level. How his lateral quickness translates to the pros is anyone's guess, though. For as many open looks as he got, you'd like to see him knock down his outside shots at a much higher clip.
