Strengths: Mays uses a combination of hustle and energy to make an impact in the paint. He scores a lot on garbage points in the lane, and shows very good rebounding instincts at both ends of the floor. Mays is very athletic with a well-developed body. He has good shooting mechanics on his jumper out to 20 feet. He can pass the ball very well for a big man, and has the tools to play in the high post.
Weaknesses: Lacks a go-to skill that can be relied upon at this point. His consistency with his shot must improve, and he could benefit from playing inside more rather than floating around on the perimeter.
Outlook: Mays was just in the draft testing his stock this season, and will return to Clemson for his senior year. He has the chance to land in the first round with a strong performance next year.
